Sudanese Army Expands Control, Captures Soba Bridge in Khartoum State

The Sudanese Army, supported by the Sudan Shield Forces led by Abu Aqla Kikel, has taken control of the Soba Bridge in the southeastern part of Khartoum State.
According to footage broadcast by Sudan Shield media, Commander Kikel announced the capture of the bridge on Monday morning. The bridge connects East Nile with the southern part of Sudan’s capital, Khartoum.
On Monday, South Kordofan State forces from the 54th Dalinj Brigade took control of the Karkarai Al-Sharqa and Hajar Jawad areas.
On Sunday, the Sudanese Army announced that its forces had successfully reopened the main road between Kosti, the capital of White Nile State, and El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, which had been under siege since the war began in April 2023.
On the same day, army forces regained control of the city of Al-Qutaina, near the borders of White Nile and Khartoum States.
In South Kordofan, the army managed to expel forces of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdulaziz Al-Hilu, from the strategic city of Al-Karkal on Sunday.
