Sudan Welcomes Iran-USA Framework Peace Agreement

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has welcomed the framework peace agreement reached between the United States and Iran, scheduled to be signed next Friday in Switzerland.

In a statement issued Tuesday evening, the Ministry expressed its hope that this agreement would constitute an important step towards strengthening security and stability in the region and contribute to consolidating the principles of peace, development, and prosperity, positively impacting the Middle East and the world at large.

The Ministry also expressed its appreciation for the efforts exerted by brotherly and friendly countries that contributed to creating the favorable conditions for reaching the agreement, foremost among them Pakistan and Qatar, along with all other parties that played constructive roles in bridging viewpoints and supporting efforts towards a peaceful settlement.

The Ministry affirmed that the success of these efforts would contribute to calming tensions in the region and enhancing the security and stability of international waterways, serving the interests of the peoples of the region and the world.
