Sudan Requests UNSC Session on Escalating Militia Drone Attacks

Sudanhorizon – Mariam Abashar – Exclusive
The UN Security Council is expected to hold a special session on Sudan within the next coming few days.
Well-informed sources told Sudanhorizon news website that the session is likely to discuss the latest developments in Sudan, in light of drone attacks and serious violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia, and the serious escalation in eastern Sudan, which threatens the entire Red Sea region, in addition to the increasing scale of foreign intervention in fueling the conflict.
The sources pointed out that the upcoming session came at the request of the Sudanese government, but its date and format have yet to be specified. While the sources have not ruled out the possibility of the session’s proceedings being obstructed by some parties complicit with the aggressor state, it was still believed that Sudan should move forward with the issue.
