Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Naval Engineer Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber pledged to support and facilitate procedures for obtaining multiple entry visas for personnel who consistently provide services to Sudanese citizens.
During his visit on Tuesday to the Italian Children’s Emergency Hospital in Port Sudan, accompanied by the Federal Minister of Health and the Governor of the Red Sea State, he confirmed that the government would not hesitate to secure the requirements necessary for Italian emergency institutions to continue offering their services to targeted individuals in various cities across Sudan.
The Federal Minister of Health, Haitham Ibrahim, stated that ‘the Member of the Sovereignty Council toured the hospital departments and observed the scale of work provided by the organization at the level of the Red Sea State. He also listened to a report on the organization’s programs in Sudan, which included the opening of new clinics and centres in Nyala and Atbara, along with a plan to establish five more centres in Kassala, Gedaref, and Kosti to provide free services for children.’
He added that ‘the Sovereignty Council Member was informed about the challenges facing the work of the Italian organization in areas controlled by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia in Darfur and Khartoum, particularly regarding procedures and the delivery of medical supplies.’ He noted that the government would work with partners to facilitate the mission of these organizations and bring in funding to help open more centres and expand services.
