Agar Affirms The Crucial Role of Media in the Upcoming Phase

On Wednesday, Commander Malik Agar Eir, the Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, met with Dr. Graham Abdelqader, the acting Minister of Culture and Information. The meeting discussed the plans, programs, and projects being implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Information and efforts to inform both local and international public opinion about ongoing events and developments in Sudan.
The Deputy Chairman praised the ministry’s significant efforts and stressed the critical role that the media will play in the upcoming phase.
In a press statement, Dr. Graham Abdelqader stated that he briefed the Deputy Chairman on the ministry’s efforts and media outlets’ role in covering and responding to developments inside and outside of Sudan. He also highlighted the press conferences organised by the ministry, which covered various vital issues, including the situation at the UAE ambassador’s residence in Sudan and its implications, as well as Sudan’s external participation in activities, events, and conferences abroad.
He further pointed out that the Deputy Chairman was informed about conferences hosted by the ministry involving officials from Al-Gezira State to explain developments in various developmental and service sectors. He also discussed the Ministry of Labor and Administrative Reform’s involvement in reviewing the outcomes of the International Labour Organization (ILO) delegation’s visit to Sudan. The meetings concerning Sudanese antiquities and the efforts to recover them were also discussed, along with the launch of the community museums workshop in Kassala State.
Dr Graham also mentioned ongoing preparations for establishing the “Sudanese Heritage Village” in Kassala State soon, emphasising the role of community culture in producing heritage and culture.
He added that the meeting also touched on the Council of Ministers’ decisions regarding state-level radio and television authorities and a workshop on social media platforms.
