Sudan: Government Units Require Employees to Return to Work by End of October

Multiple sources in several government units revealed that circulars have been issued to all state employees requiring them to resume regular attendance at their workplaces no later than the end of October.

The sources told Sudanhorizon that all government units had received the Cabinet decision directing them to immediately notify all state employees to report to their workplaces within 45 days of the announcement issued on September 17.

The sources indicated that undersecretaries of ministries and heads of government units had circulated the decision to all employees, instructing them to resume work at their designated workplaces before the specified deadline.

They explained that the decision aims to conduct an accurate census of the number of state employees following the war, noting that some employees have taken up jobs elsewhere, while others have reached retirement age.

It is worth noting that the Cabinet had reduced the proportion of state employees who were recalled to work following the outbreak of the war to 40%.
