Sudan Embassy in Asmara Leads Foreign Diplomatic Missions’ Arrangements for Africa Day Celebrations

The Sudanese Embassy in Asmara, the Eritrean capital, hosted the final meeting of the African Group, chaired by Sudan, on Tuesday morning. Representatives from the Eritrean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by the Director General of African and Middle Eastern Affairs, and representatives from the African Development Bank participated in the meeting, which was held to finalize arrangements for Africa Day celebrations in Asmara.
The meeting discussed in detail the programs and activities planned for the occasion, including a number of seminars and cultural and sporting events, most notably a football tournament and a concert.
Invitations were also extended to senior officials, including ministers, civil service leaders, and heads and members of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Asmara.
The meeting also reviewed the program of field visits to Eritrean economic, development, and investment projects, with the aim of highlighting development experiences and strengthening opportunities for cooperation and partnerships among African countries.
The meeting witnessed widespread praise for the role played by the Sudanese Embassy in Asmara. The African Group expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the Embassy for its significant efforts and active contributions to the success of the Africa Day celebrations, and for its continuous work in hosting the meetings and coordinating the work of the various committees.
For his part, the Eritrean Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the distinguished role played by the Sudanese Embassy, commending its diligent follow-up and hosting of the African Group meetings, which directly contributed to the success of the Africa Day celebrations.
Participants emphasized the importance of this occasion in strengthening cooperation and integration among African countries and highlighting the shared values that unite the peoples of the continent, thus supporting the path of development, stability, and prosperity in Africa.
