Sudan Electricity Company Explains Extent of Damage on Merowe Transformer Station

The Sudan Electricity Company said that the transformer feeding the Northern State at the Merowe Dam Power Station sustained some damage after being targeted by drones at dawn on Tuesday.
The company reassured people, in a press statement on Tuesday that civil defense teams are exerting their level best in the area for controlling the fire and reducing the extent of the losses, and that another team of engineers, technicians and workers has already arrived at the site of the incident to assess the damage and work to repair it and restore power to the affected areas shortly.
About a week ago, the Sudanese army’s anti-aircraft systems had repelled drone attacks launched by the rebel Rapid Support Militia on the same vital service units causing damages to the installation.
