The Chairman of the North and East African Livestock and Meat Council and the Head of the Meat Exporters Division, Dr. Khaled Al-Maqbool, revealed the desire of some national companies to pump investments in the vaccine industry in Sudan.
This came during his meeting with the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, in his office in the administrative capital, Port Sudan.
Al-Maqbool confirmed in press statements that the proposed factories will be at the latest international levels to serve the largest African herd of livestock and also for the purpose of export, which will benefit the people and the country.
The meeting discussed a map of solutions that will benefit the main actors along the value chain and maximize the returns from the meat sector.
The meeting presented a vision for arranging and organizing the main actors and other sectors related to the sector along the value chain by establishing the Sudanese Livestock and Meat Council similar to the global councils, which maximizes the desired results and the necessity of accelerating the filling of the shortage in export slaughterhouses, which are now almost non-existent after the exit of the Khartoum and Al-Jazeera slaughterhouses due to the war.
In turn, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, promised to facilitate all obstacles and push the file through the technical and legal path to reach the desired economic goals, and to accelerate the establishment of the proposed council after studying and overcoming difficulties to open more slaughterhouses such as the Gadarif slaughterhouse in support of value-added exports.
