Sudan and IGAD Discuss Cordination of Peace Initiatives

Sudan’s Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation, Muhyiddin Salem, met with Mohamed Abdi Ware, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) on Friday, on the sidelines of the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The meeting focused on revitalizing dialogue to end the conflict and improve the humanitarian situation, while also working to coordinate peace initiatives.

Abdi Ware stated in a tweet on his X platform that he discussed with the Sudanse Minister “ways to revitalize dialogue to end the conflict and improve the humanitarian situation in Sudan,” emphasizing “the urgent need to reorganize and coordinate competing peace initiatives.”

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is an annual conference on international diplomacy held in Antalya, Turkey, since 2021. It provides a platform for policymakers, diplomats, and academics to exchange ideas and opinions on diplomacy, politics, and business.
