Spokesperson for the Joint Forces to “Sudanhorizon”: Militias Resorted to Bombing After Failing on the Ground
Sudanhorizon – Mariam Abashar – Special
Major Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, the official spokesperson for the Joint Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements, described the security situation in the city of Al-Fasher as very good.
In a special statement to the “Sudanhorizon” news site, the spokesperson mentioned that the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Joint Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements, the Popular Resistance, and all Al-Fasher heroes are working in good coordination. He pointed out that the battles against the militia are proceeding according to plan and that the forces’ morale is high as they continue their mission to the end.
Hussein stated that the army, the joint forces, and other supporting forces have managed to defeat the core strength of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias and their mercenaries, killing most of their field commanders. He added that after the militia failed to make progress on the ground, they resorted to heavy artillery shelling from outside the city, in addition to using drones, targeting densely populated residential areas and displacement camps repeatedly. The most recent of these attacks was on the Zamzam displacement camp, located 12 kilometres from the city of Al-Fasher, which was targeted for three consecutive days, in addition to attacks on shelters and civilian properties.
Hussein confirmed that an offensive plan and strategy will soon be activated, replacing the current defensive approach.
