Sovereign Council Member Dr. Nawara: Women Supported the Armed Forces in the War of Dignity

Dr. Nawara Abu Mohammed Mohammed Tahir, Member of the Sovereign Council, affirmed that Sudanese women represent a fundamental pillar in building society, alongside their roles in the economic, cultural, and political spheres, as well as in preserving Sudanese identity and building families.

During her address on Monday at the awareness meeting with women leaders in Gedaref State, attended by Gedaref Governor Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Hassan, she praised the major roles women have played in the Dignity Battle and their support for the armed forces. She called for strengthening efforts to combat harmful customs and protect youth from the dangers of drugs.

She also pointed to the pioneering role women in Gedaref State continue to play in achieving sustainable development goals and in eradicating poverty and hunger.

For his part, Gedaref Governor Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Hassan affirmed the state government’s commitment to mobilize all resources and support women’s programs and projects in the state. He highlighted the vital role of women in family building, considering them the foundational pillar of society, as well as in supporting the armed forces during their battle for dignity and honor.

In addition, Salma Kamal, President of the Women’s Union in Gedaref State, presented the performance report for the past phase, along with women’s concerns in the service sectors. She noted that the Sovereign Council member pledged to follow up and coordinate jointly with relevant bodies to address the raised issues.
