SAF Congratulate the Nation on Liberating Wad Madani as Celebrations Sweep Sudan

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces has congratulated the people of Sudan on the liberation of Wad Madani, the capital of Gezira State.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson’s office, the military announced:
“Our forces entered the city of Wad Madani this morning and are now clearing out remnants of the insurgents within the city.” The statement added:
“We assure our proud nation that your armed forces, along with their supporting units, are advancing with determination to cleanse every inch of our land desecrated by the terrorist Al-Daglo militia.”
The statement also congratulated the armed forces, their supporting units, and the Sudanese people on reclaiming their dignity, security, and stability.
Men, women, and children across Sudan and abroad took to the streets this afternoon (Saturday) to celebrate the liberation of Wad Madani.
The insurgent Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had seized control of the city nearly a year ago, subsequently expanding their occupation to peaceful villages in the state, where they engaged in looting and violence.
