The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met with the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, especially given the shared border between Sudan and the Central African Republic, which presents a real opportunity for mutual benefits and interests.

The two leaders also addressed coordination between their countries in combating security threats that target the safety and stability of citizens in both nations. They emphasised the importance of securing the shared border by intensifying security efforts to prevent the area from becoming a hub for mercenary and rebel activities that could destabilise both countries.
