Russia Expresses Interest in Investing in Oil and Gas in the Red Sea

Russia has expressed interest in investing in Sudan’s oil exploration and production in Block 17 and the Red Sea areas.
Vladimir Kiygin, a member of the ruling party’s Foreign Relations Committee, “United Russia Party,” stated this during his meeting today with Sudanese Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohiuddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, in Moscow.
Discussions focused on Russia’s entry into Sudan for investment in Block 17 and the Red Sea regions.
For his part, the Sudanese Minister of Energy and Oil emphasized Sudan’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Russia at the economic and strategic levels, particularly in the fields of oil and electricity. Viktor Shmardanov, Chairman of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council, attended the meeting.
