Red Sea Security and Hostilities in Sudan on Top of US-Saudi Discussions

US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a phone call on Thursday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The US State Department indicated in a press release published on the department’s website that the two ministers discussed regional security issues, including efforts to end the violence in Syria.

The two ministers also discussed diplomatic efforts with Iran, “US-Saudi cooperation to ensure security in the Red Sea, and to cease the fighting in Sudan.”

The US State Department statement said that Rubio and Prince Faisal also discussed ongoing cooperation to strengthen US-Saudi relations.
