Rapid Support Forces Divert Humanitarian Aid Convoy from Zamzam Camp to Nyala

Sudanhorizon – Agencies
Informed sources within United Nations agencies reported that a convoy of 40 humanitarian aid trucks, en route from the Adré border crossing to the Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur, was intercepted, inspected, and redirected by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to the city of Nyala instead.
The UN source stated that this move reflects a clear intention to create a humanitarian reality aimed at continuing the siege on the residents of El Fasher city and the surrounding displacement camps, starving its citizens and leaving them vulnerable to diseases and epidemics.
According to the same sources, the convoy was subjected to another inspection despite having already been inspected in El Geneina city, a clear violation of humanitarian principles. The sources emphasized that these actions confirm that the rebel RSF militia is not cooperating in delivering UN aid to areas outside its control.
The sources pointed out that these practices are part of a systematic approach to prevent relief from reaching those in need and to divert it to areas under the control of the RSF militia. This constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and amounts to crimes against humanity.
