The Government of South Kordofan State announced that the number of victims of the massacre committed by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, has risen to 79 martyrs among unarmed civilians, including 43 children and four women, in addition to 38 wounded, among them 11 children and six women.

In a statement issued today (Friday), the State Governor condemned and denounced, in the strongest terms, the heinous crimes committed by the SPLM-N and its ally, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), for killing innocent civilians. He called on the international community and human rights organisations to classify these militias as terrorist organisations for committing what he described as a fully constituted crime.

Consistent media reports yesterday stated that the SPLM-N, led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu, together with its ally the Rapid Support Forces, had targeted a kindergarten and the Kadır Hospital with deliberate drone strikes. The city of Kalogi in South Kordofan State was also bombarded with four missiles launched by a drone, along with other densely populated areas. Even the medical personnel providing emergency assistance to the wounded were not spared from the strikes.
