Professor Tahami Al-Zain Hajar, the Sudanese Minister of Education and National Instruction, has commended the role played by Zain Sudan in supporting the education sector during the ongoing war.

The minister lauded the company’s social initiatives, which included facilitating the grading process for the Sudanese Certificate examinations, as well as contributing to the provision of school furniture and uniforms for students in areas most severely affected by the conflict.

The Minister also praised Zain’s initiative to honor high-achieving students in technical, vocational, and religious education tracks—noting that Zain was the first company to launch such an initiative. He emphasized the importance of this step in recognizing excellence across various fields, fostering greater interest in technical, vocational, and religious education, and encouraging young people to continue excelling and innovating.

These remarks were made during a meeting on Monday, October 12, with Mr. Dafallah Mohammed Nour, a representative of Zain. The meeting, which was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Khalifa Omar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and National Instruction, reviewed Zain’s key contributions to supporting education and society, as well as its efforts to leverage technical and digital solutions to serve citizens and assist in recovery and reconstruction endeavors.

The Minister expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation with Zain and establish a partnership focused on computing and digital transformation, aiming to utilize the company’s technical capabilities to enhance educational services and improve their efficiency.

For his part, Dafallah Mohammed Nour emphasized the company’s commitment to continuing its social role and strengthening its cooperation with the Ministry of Education. He highlighted the company’s dedication to leveraging its technical capabilities and expertise to support educational initiatives, while opening new avenues for partnership in the fields of computing and digital transformation.

He noted that this step reflects Zain’s deep-seated belief that education is a fundamental right for every child and a cornerstone for development and community building. He further underscored the company’s commitment to investing in Sudan’s future by enabling students to continue their education, despite challenging humanitarian circumstances.

He added that Zain works hand-in-hand with its national and local partners to create a tangible, positive impact on the lives of the Sudanese people, pointing to several initiatives launched by the company—such as youth capacity-building and digital literacy programs, as well as the “Women in Technology” initiative, which aims to bridge the gender gap in the tech sector and empower women to participate effectively in the labor market.
