Legitimising Genocide by Supporting the RSF

Sudanhorizon – Reports
The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, Senator Jim Risch, has criticised Kenya, a key US ally, for granting legitimacy to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan under the pretext of peace-making.
Posting on the official committee account on Platform X (formerly Twitter), Risch stated:
“Last year, I led efforts in Congress to recognise the atrocities committed by the RSF in Sudan—atrocities that have resulted in the deaths of over 150,000 people—as genocide. In January, this recognition became official US policy. Now, Kenya, a US ally, is helping the RSF legitimise its genocidal rule in Sudan under the guise of peace-making—an inconceivable attempt to conceal the truth that will not end the massacre.”
Kenya’s move to host the political coalition that includes RSF leaders and their allied Sudanese political factions has triggered outrage both within Kenya and internationally, with widespread condemnation of the Kenyan presidency’s actions.
