The Northern State is preparing to resume operations at Dongola Airport and launch domestic flights (Dongola – Port Sudan) within the next few days.
During an inspection visit to review the airport’s preparations today (Thursday), Northern State Governor Abdeen Awadallah stated that this step is part of the outcomes of his recent visit to the administrative capital, Port Sudan, and follows directives from Transitional Sovereignty Council member Admiral Ibrahim Jaber to activate Dongola Airport.
He added that resuming operations at the airport will facilitate the movement of expatriates, boost economic activities in the state, and ease the delivery of humanitarian aid to displaced individuals.
