A military statement issued by the Joint Force of Armed Struggle Movements said that they had gained control of a large military supply convoy of the rebel Rapid Support Militia after it crossed into Sudanese territory and seized quantities of weapons and ammunition.

The statement signed by the official spokesman of the Joint Force, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, issued on Friday, stated that “within the framework of the ongoing military operations to secure Sudan and the Darfur region in particular and confront the terrorist Rapid Support Militia, our forces carried out a successful qualitative operation against a military supply convoy belonging to the Janjaweed militia that was on its way to reinforce the militia forces on all fronts with ammunition and military equipment in the Ad Al-Bayda area, southeast of El Fasher. This operation came after accurate intelligence monitoring that continued for several days since this convoy entered Sudanese territory.”

The statement added that “the target was dealt with according to a well-planned offensive at the planned place and time, where our forces were able to destroy the accompanying military units and successfully control the convoy.”

The statement indicated that the convoy was carrying a large number of ammunition and military supplies, including 10,000 40-caliber cannon shells, 12,000 howitzer shells, and thousands of missiles, bombs, and various ammunition, and that a large number of terrorist elements were neutralized, including foreign mercenaries who were accompanying the convoy to ensure the arrival of supplies.

As well as advanced military equipment that was prepared to support the collapsed militia, which is a severe blow to the militia’s logistical supply lines.

The statement noted that similar supplies “were used extensively in the random shelling that targeted neighborhoods in El Fasher and Omdurman and camps for innocent displaced persons, which makes their destruction a decisive step in breaking the enemy’s back and reducing its ability to continue brutal attacks against civilians.”

In a related context, the spokesman for the joint force said, “While following the movements of this convoy, our intelligence monitored the movements of some of the dismissed civil administrations that are active in providing logistical, material and human support to the terrorist militia, and we confirm that anyone proven to be involved in supporting the enemy will be a legitimate target for our forces. Anyone who contributes to financing or supplying the militia with weapons, military or human aid is a traitor to the homeland and the people, and will face the harshest penalties without leniency in accordance with the law.” The statement concluded by saying, “The joint force of the armed struggle movements, the Sudanese Armed Forces, the regular forces, the popular force for self-defense and Mayarim El Fasher will continue its battle until every inch of Sudanese land is liberated from the filth of the terrorist militia, and we will not allow any attempts to revive the dilapidated militia forces on all fronts.”
