Interception of Military Supplies and Weapons from Libya Bound for RSF Militia
El Fasher – Sudanhorizon
The Joint Armed Movements Force announced it had intercepted a large shipment of military supplies backed by the UAE and destined for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The force also seized travel documents belonging to Colombian mercenaries and captured combat vehicles and armoured cars near Sudan’s borders with Libya and Chad.
In a statement received by the Sudanhorizon news outlet, the official spokesperson for the Joint Armed Movements Force, Major Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, said:
“In a daring and strategic operation, the Joint Armed Movements Force succeeded in intercepting a substantial military and logistical supply convoy bound for RSF militias in the tri-border area of Sudan, Libya, and Chad.”
He continued:
“The seized supplies included advanced weapons, four-wheel-drive vehicles in possession of foreign mercenaries from Africa and South America, seven armoured vehicles, and 25 brand-new four-wheel-drive cars.”
The Joint Force also confiscated large quantities of ammunition and heavy weapons linked to the UAE Armed Forces, including numerous Kornet anti-tank missiles en route to Sudan. Foreign passports, bank cards, and family photos belonging to the mercenaries were also found, including documents of Colombian nationals. According to the statement, visas issued through Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport in October were uncovered.
The statement added:
“The entry of such weapons into Sudan, particularly Darfur, is a clear and blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1591 and 2736, which prohibit the sale or transfer of arms to the region. The Joint Force will submit all documents and investigation findings to the relevant Sudanese state institutions for further action on this serious development.”
The Joint Force emphasized that Sudan faces significant conspiracies by nations and entities seeking to exploit its resources by employing global companies and transcontinental mercenaries to pursue their agendas in blatant disregard of international laws.
It called on the international community to take urgent action to pressure countries supporting the RSF militia and supplying it with weapons and military equipment.
Military sources speaking to Al-Muhaqiq suggested that the intercepted arms and equipment were likely provided by Khalifa Haftar, the Libyan leader controlling eastern Libya, known for his strong military ties with the UAE.
