Sudanhorizon – Nazik Shammaam
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the start of a comprehensive survey of both operational and non-operational factories in Khartoum State.
In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Minister of Industry and Trade Mahasin Yaqoub confirmed that her ministry has begun a full assessment of the state’s industrial system.
She stated, “A report is being prepared that will include operational factories, those that have halted production, and those currently under rehabilitation.”
The minister explained that resuming factory operations in Khartoum would strengthen local production, supply markets, and help stabilize prices.
Last week, Sovereignty Council Member Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jaber toured several factories in Khartoum and Gezira states, emphasizing the need for these facilities to fully meet domestic market demands and reduce dependence on imports.
