IGAD Secretary General Inaugurates Mission Headquarters in Khartoum, Thursday

The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, will inaugurate the headquarters of the sub-regional mission in the Al-Riyadh district of Khartoum this afternoon (Thursday), in the presence of prominent diplomats and media figures.
According to a statement from the organization, the reopening ceremony of the IGAD mission in Sudan reaffirms IGAD’s firm institutional commitment to Sudan and its people.
The IGAD Executive Secretary is expected to address the media, outlining the organization’s efforts to support peace in Sudan, enhance coordination with regional and international partners, and reiterate its solidarity with the Sudanese people on their path towards recovery and stability.
It is worth noting that the IGAD Secretary General arrived in the country Thursday on an official visit, during which he will call on the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, the Prime Minister, and several senior state officials.
