Foreign Ministry: Kenya Persists in Violating the Laws, Sudan Will Respond to Those Hostile Behaviors

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the statement issued by the Kenyan Foreign Minister in which he welcomed the signing of a charter between political forces and the rebel Rapid Support Militia on forming a parallel government with the aim of tearing Sudan apart.
The statement rejected Kenya’s claims that it is doing this to help achieve peace in Sudan and stressed that what the Kenyan government did constitutes a violation and disregard for international laws and conventions. It also stated that the Sudanese government would take the necessary steps to respond to this behavior.
The statement pointed out that in a dangerous precedent, a complete departure from the United Nations Charter and the founding order of the African Union, and a grave threat to regional security and peace, the Kenyan leadership has adopted the parallel government that the genocidal militia and its followers intend to declare in some of the remaining pockets where it is found.
The statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew attention to the slogans chanted by the participants in the signing ceremony, considering them “slogans calling on the militia to invade specific Sudanese cities and regions, to continue ethnic cleansing and genocide, as it did in Geneina, Ardamata, the villages of Gezira, Sinnar, Zamzam IDPs camp, the villages of North Darfur and Al-Gitaina, a matter that refutes “the Kenyan leadership’s claim that the meetings of the terrorist militia and its supporters, under its auspices, aimed to discuss achieving peace.”
The Ministry’s statement cited what was stated in the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper two days earlier by one of the militia leaders participating in the meetings that the goal of what was signed was to establish a government that would enable them to possess weapons that non-governmental military organizations could not receive.
The statement concluded by stressing that the Kenyan presidency’s insistence on this dangerous approach expresses its disregard for the rules of international law and the requirements of regional peace and security, the duties of preventing genocide and impunity, and combating terrorism. It also represents a gross disregard for Kenya’s national interests in its relations with Sudan, especially in commercial and vital domains.
