FM Undersecretary: Sudan Keen to Actively Participate in International Forums

The Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, has underlined the benefit of the presence of the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, at the International Conference on Financing for Development, Spain, as this help emphasize the active presence at such an important forum and that the country would benefit from the financing platforms present at the conference, especially as Sudan is entering the phase of rebuilding what was destroyed by the war.
Al-Amin told Sudanhorizon that Sudan was keen to participate in international and regional forums based on its responsibility as an active member of the international community and on the government’s keenness to explain the reality of the situation in the country and urge countries and active organizations to contribute to stability and reconstruction efforts.
The Undersecretary has indicated that Al-Burhan met with King Felipe VI of Spain and the Iraqi President. He said Gen al- Burhan was interviewed by the Spanish newspaper La Razon to discuss the situation in Sudan and what the world expects from this conference.
He added that Al-Burhan’s visit to Spain was for participation in this international conference being held in Seville, organized by the United Nations and the Spanish government. He referred to the speech of the Chairman of the Sovereign Council at the conference, saying that it addressed the importance of global solidarity in financing development, especially in the countries of the South, which are rich in natural resources but lack the necessary capital. He added that Al-Burhan emphasized in his statement that Sudan is taking confident measures toward stability, especially after the appointment of Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris, the completion of state institutions, and the strengthening of the civilian transition.
He pinpointed that Al-Burhan affirmed that Sudan would overcome the complex conditions created by the war of the rebel militia against the people, their resources, and the country’s infrastructure.
