FM: Sudan Stands with Arab States Against Foreign Aggression

Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation, Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmed, affirmed Sudan’s strong support and full solidarity with Arab states in confronting aggression, emphasizing that Arab national security is “indivisible.”
During the video conference meetings of Arab League Council at the ministerial level, in which he heads Sudanese heading, the Minister expressed Sudan’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting several Arab countries, civilian targets, and infrastructure, describing these attacks as a clear violation of established rules of international law and a direct threat to civilian lives.
The Minister announced Sudan’s support for any legitimate measures and actions taken by Arab states to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity, while simultaneously commending the measured and balanced response of Arab leaders, which adhered to international principles and was characterized by wisdom and restraint, thus preventing the region from sliding into a spiral of violence.
The Minister also commended the diplomatic efforts exerted to prevent further escalation in the region, particularly praising the role played by the Sultanate of Oman in bridging the gaps between the parties, as well as the efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar in this regard.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister reiterated Sudan’s support for Lebanon in the face of aggression, warning of the dangers of the conflict widening and spreading, and the serious repercussions this could have on regional and international peace and security, the security of international waterways, and the stability of global energy supplies.
The Sudanese minister has called on influential parties in the international community to intensify their efforts to halt the escalation and create the conditions for a return to the negotiating table and the adoption of dialogue as a means to resolve differences.
