Finance Ministry Emphasizes the Importance of Digital Transformation to Enhance Oversight of Public Funds

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning discussed its 2025 plan to align performance with achieving budgetary goals, focusing on mobilizing domestic resources and increasing revenues to fund priorities. These include supporting the military effort, meeting the needs of security forces to ensure stability and uphold state authority, addressing the economic crisis to prevent further decline, improving revenue collection from genuine sources, enhancing transparency and fairness, and providing essential needs for citizens.
Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim chaired a meeting on Thursday. He highlighted the critical role of digital transformation in advancing the ministry’s objectives, ensuring control over public funds, monitoring performance, and expediting processes. He also referenced the ministry’s commitment to Cabinet Decision No. 150, which mandates settling all government dues through banking transfers.
Dr. Ibrahim stressed the importance of establishing clear pathways and performance measurement criteria in line with planned objectives, as well as adhering to periodic reporting to track progress and promptly address any deviations.
