FIFA President Pledges to Reconstruct Sudan’s Sports Infrastructure

The Sudanese Football Association has revealed that its delegation led by, Moatasem Jaafar President of the Association, engaged in series of meetings, including with the leadership of the International Football Federation (FIFA), led by Gianni Infantino, on the sidelines of the FIFA Congress 75th held in Asuncion, Paraguay, Friday and Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the federation today on Saturday the meeting discussed development projects that FIFA had initiated in Sudan, but which have been halted due to the war.
The FIFA president expressed his solidarity with Sudan, voicing his best wishes for it to regain peace as soon as possible, and that FIFA would continue the development projects to establish world-class infrastructure to contribute to the development of Sudanese football.
Infantino promised to visit the Sudan soon and pledged full support for the Sudanese Football Association. The Sudanese delegation informed FIFA president of the destruction that affected sports facilities in the country, and Infantino expressed sadness over the extensive damage sustained by the Sudanese football infrastructure.
He pledged significant support for refurbishment and rebuilding what the war has destroyed in the field of sports, and to complete development projects immediately after the war in Sudan.
The Sudanese Football Association delegation commended FIFA President for his unwavering supportive positions towards the Sudanese Federation, which contributed to the continued international participation of national teams and Sudanese clubs.
The Sudanese Football Association delegation has meanwhile conferred with the President of CAF and the heads of several national federations, which expressed their solidarity with the Sudanese Federation until it emerges stronger from this ordeal, and for the national teams and Sudanese clubs to continue their international participation uninterrupted.
