Failure of Negotiations Between the Sudanese and American Delegations in Jeddah
Jeddah – Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The head of the Sudanese government delegation to consult with the American administration on the Geneva talks announced the lack of agreement with Washington in the Jeddah consultative meetings.
The head of the delegation, the Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Abu-Namo, said in a press statement seen by the Sudanhorizon news website: “I announce, in my capacity as head of the government delegation in the consultative meetings with the Americans in the Saudi city of Jeddah, the end of the consultations without an agreement on the participation of the Sudanese delegation in the Geneva negotiations – as a recommendation to the leadership – whether the delegation represents the army according to their desire or represents the government according to the government’s decision from now on.”
He continued: “The matter is also ultimately left to the leadership’s decision with its assessments, and there are certainly many details that led us to end the consultative dialogue without an agreement.”
