Expected Restructuring of Sudan Petroleum Corporation, Regional Firm to Enter Fuel Imports

Government sources have revealed that Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris is expected to issue a decision to restructure the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation and prepare and enact a new law regulating its operations. The sources told Sudanhorizon that the move aims to restructure the energy sector and strengthen oversight of the fuel market.

The sources indicated that the decision seeks to subject the importation of petroleum products to strict controls, secure domestic requirements, and ensure direct oversight by the corporation of distribution operations, while guaranteeing that supplies reach all areas with flexibility and efficiency.

The sources also revealed that a major regional company is expected to enter into a partnership for fuel import operations in direct cooperation and coordination with the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation.
