Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan: President Sisi Supports All Initiatives Leading to an End to the War in Sudan

The Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Shams al-Din Kabbashi, met today with the Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan, Hani Salah, to discuss the country’s current situation, opportunities for mutual cooperation, and aspects of coordination on water issues.
Kabbashi provided a detailed explanation of the Sudanese government’s position regarding the Geneva negotiations, the Jeddah platform, and all other pathways that could contribute to Sudan’s stability, security, and unity.
The Sovereignty Council’s Deputy Chairman conveyed the Sudanese leadership’s greetings to the Egyptian government and people.
Following the meeting, the Egyptian Ambassador issued a press statement expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the Sudanese government and people. He affirmed Egypt’s continued support for the Sudanese government in achieving security, stability, and peace, noting that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi continues to support all initiatives that could end the war in Sudan.
The Egyptian Ambassador added that the meeting also discussed several important projects that Egypt is implementing in Sudan, such as the electricity interconnection project and the development of the Wadi Halfa River Port, which hold great potential for mutual growth and development.
Ambassador Hani also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their unwavering support of the Egyptian candidate for the position of UNESCO Director-General, further strengthening the warmth and appreciation in the diplomatic relationship.
