Destruction of Key Militia Strongholds and Armoured Vehicles

The Sudanese Army’s Sixth Infantry Division in El Fasher announced that it destroyed a SarSar armoured vehicle belonging to the rebel Al-Daglo militia, along with its entire crew, and seized weapons and ammunition depots belonging to the militia in the southeastern direction of El Fasher.
The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported, citing a press briefing issued by the Sixth Infantry Division, that its forces successfully carried out routine sweeping operations in the eastern and southeastern neighbourhoods of El Fasher on Friday evening. The operations resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of rebel militia elements, the destruction of several of their key strongholds, and the takeover of a number of their positions. The operation also led to the dispersal of nearly an entire militia faction and the capture of others as prisoners. The captives revealed that the militia’s plans for the upcoming period involved preparing to attack incoming convoys to Darfur and cutting off their routes.
The press briefing added that the forces shot down and destroyed a number of suicide drones launched by the militia into some neighbourhoods of the city without specific targets. It also noted that the militia shelled the southwestern neighbourhoods on Friday, but the shelling did not result in any casualties.
The Sixth Infantry Division reaffirmed that its forces across all formations controlled the situation, with high morale fueled by the taste of victories. The division urged citizens to remain vigilant and cautious to ensure their safety as the militia targets civilian gatherings.
