El Fashir – Sudanhorizon
Darfur’s Regional Government has announced over 13000 civilians have been displaced following a new massacre committed by the Rapid Support Militia in several areas within the region, Western Sudan.
A statement by the Darfur Regional Government,  received by “Sudanhorizon” news website, has underlined that “in a horrific incident that requires condemnation of humanity, the terrorist Rapid Support Militias have committed terrible massacres against unarmed civilians” in at least 20 villages and areas in north Darfur state.
The statement specified that these included the villages and areas of Bir Mazza, Bridek, Donki Bashim, Dereshqi,  Hilat  Abu Zakaria,  Hilat  Abu Musa,  Hilat  Haroun,  Hilat  Amoh,  Hilat  Adam Hamdoun,  Hilat  Abu Juma,  Hilat  Mohamed Abuti,  Hilat  Kalmit,  Hilat  Qasoub,  Hilat  Adbo,  Hilat  Ishaq Tahir,  Hilat  Idris Daqo,  Hilat  Siddiq Bara,  Hilat  Abdullah Abkar  of  North Darfur.
The statement has stressed that this crime resulted in the death many innocent civilians and resulted in the displacement of more than 13,000 people, saying these atrocities add to the series of crimes committed by the rebel militias in various states of Sudan.
The regional authority indicated that these criminal acts demonstrate the systematic behavior of the militias in targeting civilians, looting their property, and forcibly displacing them from their home areas.
The statement pointed out that the Darfur Regional Government, while referring to this documented crimes “calls on the international community and human rights organizations to condemn and denounce these crimes and hold accountable the terrorist Rapid Support Militia perpetrators, in line with the principle of non-impunity”.
Since May, the terrorist Rapid Support Militias have been leading repeated attacks on El Fashir and the surrounding villages, ignoring UN Security Council Resolutions relative to the situation in city as adopted last June, which called on the RSF Militia to stop attacking the city. The militias have also ignored calls by the international and regional communities to refrain from attacking the villages and civilian population.
