Darfur Associations Grouping Discusses El Fasher Situation with MP Jeremy Corbyn

The Darfur Associations Grouping in the United Kingdom held a lengthy meeting on Tuesday at the British Parliament with independent MP, former Labour Party leader, former prime ministerial candidate, and founder of a new political party in British , Jeremy Corbyn.

The meeting witnessed in-depth discussions about the catastrophic situation in Sudan, particularly the ongoing genocide in El Fasher, as well as the shortcomings and inaction of the British government’s stance on Sudanese issues.

The group stressed the importance of developing a firmer British position on the crisis, specifically the flow of weapons to militias from the United Arab Emirates, and building upon recent sanctions with more comprehensive and effective measures to end impunity.

The group reiterated its commitment to continuing its peaceful, legal, and media efforts, and to coordinating with British parliamentarians and international partners to ensure full justice for all victims in Sudan and to build a serious international process that ends the crimes and establishes a just peace based on equal citizenship and human rights.
