Customs Dollar Rate Increased Again in Less Than a Month

Sudanhorizon – Nazik Shamam
The customs dollar rate has risen to 3.743 Sudanese pounds in less than thirty days, up from the previous rate of 3.517 pounds a dollar. Informed sources revealed that the Sudanese Customs Authority implemented a 6.4% increase in the customs dollar rate on Wednesday.
The sources told Sudanhorizon that this increase is due to the rise in the dollar’s value in the parallel (black market) market during the past period.

The parallel market is witnessing a rise in foreign currency exchange rates against the Sudanese pound, with the pound falling to 5,400 to the dollar.

The customs dollar is the rate used to calculate the value of customs duties on imports from outside the country, which are then paid in Sudanese pounds. The rate set by the government relevant institutions.
