Chinese Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Visits Sudan Pavilion at International Mining Exhibition

The Chinese Deputy Minister of Natural Resources paid a visit to the Sudanese pavilion at the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Tianjin. He was welcomed by Sudan’s Minister of Minerals, Nour-al-Daim Mohamed Ahmed Taha, in the presence of senior officials from the minerals sector and members of the Sudanese delegation participating in the conference.
During the tour, the Chinese official inspected the pavilion and received a briefing on Sudan’s geological and mineral potential, as well as investment opportunities in exploration, production, and mineral processing.
He was also briefed on efforts to develop the mining sector and leverage modern technologies, according to Osama Mukhtar, the Sudan Radio correspondent in China.
The Sudanese Minister of Minerals emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with China and leveraging advanced expertise and technologies in geological exploration, geophysical surveying, and mineral resource assessment. Such collaboration aims to develop Sudan’s mining sector and maximize the value-added potential of its mineral wealth.
For his part, the Chinese Deputy Minister of Natural Resources expressed interest in Sudan’s abundant mineral potential, stressing the importance of continued communication and coordination between relevant institutions in both countries, as well as expanding the scope of expertise exchange and cooperation within the mining sector.
The Sudan pavilion attracted significant interest from Chinese companies, investors, experts, and mining sector specialists. Visitors sought to learn more about Sudan’s mineral resources and investment opportunities, while also exploring potential cooperation in exploration, mining operations, services, and mining technologies.
