Burhan Receives South Sudan’s Intelligence Chief

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, on Wednesday received the Director of South Sudan’s National Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Akec Tong Alieu, in the presence of the Director of Sudan’s General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
The meeting reviewed the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields to serve common interests.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance joint security cooperation and coordinate efforts to secure their shared borders, ensuring the ability to confront current security challenges and achieve sustainable stability for the people of both countries.
During the meeting, Akec Tong Alieu conveyed the greetings of South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit to the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, expressing his wishes for his continued good health and for Sudan’s continued security, stability, and prosperity.
