As the First Economic Conference Sessions Conclude: Minister of Finance Commits to Implementing Its Recommendations

The First Economic Conference on Addressing the Challenges of War concluded its sessions on Wednesday evening.
The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Jibril Ibrahim, who supervised the conference, pledged to prioritize the implementation of its recommendations and to establish a mechanism for execution through the relevant ministries. He emphasized integrating the conference’s efforts with those of the high committee formed by the Sovereignty Council to devise a reconstruction plan for areas devastated by the war.
In the closing session, the Minister promised robust support for agriculture to double production and affirmed the importance of the conference’s recommendations to enhance attention to the agricultural sector, including both plant and animal production, prioritize water as a critical resource, and focus on environmental health, including the establishment of a federal ministry dedicated to it.
He also underscored his commitment to the conference’s recommendations regarding the gold sector and the revision of its related regulations.
The conference concluded with several key recommendations addressing the challenges of fiscal and monetary policies in wartime, promoting banking technology, enhancing the role of productive sectors, and advancing vital and service sectors.
