Announcement of Military Reinforcements Arriving in Al-Fasher

Al-Fasher – Sudanhorizon

The joint force of the Darfur Peace Movements announced the arrival of military reinforcements to Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state in western Sudan.

In a statement obtained by the Sudanhorizon news site, they said: “We assure Sudanese men and women that the situation in Al-Fasher is promising, and your forces are advancing and holding firm on all fronts.”

The statement continued: “The heroes of Al-Fasher from your Sudanese Armed Forces and the joint force of armed struggle movements and popular resistance have completely crushed and defeated the enemy.”

It added: “The heroes arriving from outside the city met with their comrades in Al-Fasher.”

Field sources familiar with the situation informed Sudanhorizon that the army and the joint force have intensified their presence in Al-Fasher and expanded their forward defences.

Since May, the Rapid Support Forces militia has attempted to take control of Al-Fasher in more than 139 military attacks, but these attempts have failed.

The militia lost some of its prominent field leaders in its assault on the city, including Ali Yaqub, in mid-June, and its combat vehicles were destroyed in the defences of eastern and northern Al-Fasher.
