Al-Burhan Receives Credentials of New Egyptian Ambassador

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received the credentials of Yasser Abdel Rahman Ali Sorour as Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Sudan at the Republican Palace today. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salem.
Following the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador said he was honoured to meet the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and had conveyed to him the greetings of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position towards Sudan and its continued support for the country to overcome its current crisis and emerge stronger.
Sorour added that, during his tenure in Sudan, he would work to strengthen bilateral relations, expand areas of joint cooperation, and further develop ties between the two brotherly countries. He stressed that there were no limits to developing these relations in a way that fulfils the aspirations of both peoples.
