The Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan Abdel Rahman, discussed, on Friday, with the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Minister Abbas Kamel, the challenges facing the two countries and current developments, in the presence of the Sudanese Director General of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, according to a circular published by the Sovereignty Council Media.

During the meeting, Al-Burhan praised Egypt’s pioneering role in supporting and assisting its brothers in Sudan within the framework of the historical and fraternal bilateral relations that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, expressing his deep appreciation and thanks to the Arab Republic of Egypt, government and people, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The Egyptian intelligence chief stressed his country’s keenness on the security and stability of Sudan and hoped that the page of war would be turned quickly to stop the suffering of the Sudanese citizens.

It is noteworthy that Egypt had hosted a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue conference in the first week of last July, and was supposed to host a dialogue two days ago between representatives of the American and Sudanese governments, to discuss arrangements for implementing the Jeddah Agreement signed with the rebel Rapid Support Forces, but that did not happen.
