Agar Discusses West Darfur Situation with Massalit Popular Committee Delegation

The Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar Eyre, praised the pivotal roles played by popular committees, organizations, and grassroots coalitions in the “Battle of Dignity,” defending the nation’s sovereignty, safeguarding its territories, and upholding its stature.
During his meeting with a delegation from the Massalit Popular Committee in Sudan—led by Maulana Mohamed Abdullah Al-Duma—at his office in Port Sudan on Monday, Agar stressed the importance of concerted efforts and joint coordination to strengthen national unity, social cohesion, and community building. He emphasized the need for harmony and consensus among local communities in West Darfur State.
For his part, Prof. Al-Tayeb Ali Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of El Geneina University and a member of the delegation, stated that the meeting addressed several critical Sudanese issues at this stage, particularly the situation in West Darfur State and El Geneina city. Discussions also highlighted the necessity of participation in reconstruction efforts in the upcoming phase.
He noted that the delegation expressed full support for the state leadership in the Battle of Dignity, as well as ongoing reconstruction and service delivery efforts. The delegation also affirmed its solidarity with the issues of displaced persons and refugees in Chad.
Additionally, the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council commended the significant role of West Darfur’s people in the Battle of Dignity and their active involvement in matters related to Sudan’s peace and security.
