Acting Minister of Energy and Oil Reveals Extent of War-Related Destruction in Oil and Electric Sectors

The Acting Minister of Energy and Oil, Engineer Mohamed Awad El Khair, revealed the extent of the destruction caused by the war, particularly in the oil and electricity infrastructure.

He pointed out that there are significant challenges posed by the reality of post-war reconstruction.

He pointed out during a workshop on renewable energy and the challenges of rebuilding Sudan, organized by Centroid Technical Services Limited in cooperation with the Energy Affairs Department of the Ministry of Energy and Oil and the Sudan Electricity Holding Company on Wednesday at the Rabwa Hotel in Port Sudan, the various types of renewable energy in Sudan and their role in reconstruction. He called for encouraging private sector companies to invest in renewable energy and saluted the armed forces as they wage the battle of dignity and achieve victory day after day, promising a great victory for Sudan soon.

For his part, the General Manager of Centroid Company, Hassan Abdel Hadi, said that the workshop on renewable energy and the challenges of rebuilding Sudan after two years of war came to lay the foundation for building Sudan in renewable energy and how to establish clean energy in light of the recurring power outages, pointing to the proposal of an alternative for a group of companies, explaining that the company works in the field of consulting and includes a unit for renewable energy, pointing to regional work in neighboring countries.
