Ministry of Health Launches Major Project for Supporting Hospitals in 11 States

The Federal Ministry of Health has started a major operation for the shipment of medical aid to Sudan’s states. Twelve trucks loaded with medical equipment and supplies for operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency departments were dispatched to 11 states as part of the national plan to strengthen the health system.

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker, affirmed that this national project represents a significant achievement in supporting hospitals. He praised the resilience of the National Medical Supplies Fund, adding, “Without the strength of the supplies, we would not have overcome this difficult phase… Despite the challenges, we will continue.”

Babiker noted that the sending of these trucks coincides with the meeting of Directors General of Health and Curative Medicine in Sinnar State. He emphasized that 2026 will be a phase of recovery, restoring health well-being, and developing medical services, according to the Sudan News Agency.

The Undersecretary stated that the country has regained its health strength and that the national project to strengthen the health system embodies resilience and lays the foundation for a new era in the health sector. It is worth noting that the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Babiker, and the Director General of the National Medical Supplies Fund, Dr. Badr Al-Din Al-Jazouli, witnessed the inauguration ceremony, along with leaders from the Ministry and the Medical Supplies Fund, in a step aimed at improving the quality and stability of medical services in various states.
