Cairo to Host Russia–Africa Conference End of Next Week

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the second ministerial conference between Russia and Africa, which is scheduled to be hosted by the Egyptian capital, will provide additional momentum for developing Russian–African relations, according to the Russian news agency Novosti.
Zakharova added in a press briefing today (Thursday): “The Russia–Africa ministerial conference in Egypt will be the first of its kind held on African soil. Invitations have been sent to all foreign ministers, as well as to the countries and executive bodies of integration blocs across the continent. This meeting aims to give an additional boost to the development of the Russian–African partnership.”
She affirmed that the meeting is intended to provide a strong new push for advancing the Russia–Africa partnership and will contribute to strengthening Russia’s cooperation with the continent. It will also allow for comparing perspectives on pressing issues on the joint Russia–Africa agenda.
The Russian Foreign Ministry representative continued: “Of course, special attention will be devoted to developing relations in the areas of trade, economy, and investment, as well as discussing promising areas of future cooperation.”
It is noted that the second Russia–Africa ministerial conference will be held in Cairo from December 19 to 20 of this year.
