Decision to Ban Foreigners from Traveling Through Ports and Bus Terminals

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

The Sudanese Transport Chambers Union has announced a ban on the travel of foreigners without residence permits, as well as refugees, through ports and intercity bus terminals.

According to a statement issued by the chamber on Sunday, the Union confirmed that it had observed a number of foreigners returning from various ports to the national capital through multiple routes and methods, including the use of national highways.

The statement emphasized the prohibition of travel without official documents and valid permits, describing the decision as part of the state’s efforts to enhance security and stability.

It also clarified that the campaign does not target citizens of any specific country, noting that these measures are aimed at addressing security threats resulting from unregulated foreign presence, while at the same time improving the conditions of legally residing foreigners and providing them with services as part of the state’s security and social responsibilities.
