Cairo – Sudanhorizon
The second preparatory workshop for the Egyptian–Sudanese Business Forum (second edition) will kick off next Sunday in Cairo. The event will focus on implementation mechanisms for reconstruction and development in Sudan, as well as current and future logistical connectivity between Egypt and Sudan. It is organized under the patronage of the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian–Sudanese Company for Development and Multiple Investments, with the participation of senior officials, experts, and business leaders from both countries, alongside a number of European investors working in related fields.
The forum is being held within the framework of the historic ties and shared destiny between Sudan and Egypt, and in line with the directives of both countries’ leaderships to strengthen economic integration and expand avenues of bilateral cooperation in support of regional partnership. It also builds on the achievements of the first Egyptian–Sudanese Business Forum, which took place on November 23, 2024, under the patronage and presence of H.E. Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, with the participation of numerous ministers, officials, and experts from both nations.
According to a joint statement issued by the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian–Sudanese Company for Development and Multiple Investments, the second edition of the forum will be held in December 2025 in Cairo, in collaboration with a group of partners, specialists, and business leaders from both countries.
The statement explained that the forum aims to explore available investment opportunities, create new partnership channels, and enhance economic cooperation between the two nations by bringing together official leaders, businesspeople, investors, and experts from Egypt and Sudan. It also seeks to establish the forum as a strategic platform capable of elevating bilateral economic relations to new heights.
As a joint economic platform, the forum provides a valuable opportunity for constructive dialogue to promote innovative models of economic and trade cooperation. It is preceded by a series of preparatory workshops addressing key cooperation areas. The first workshop, held on September 16, 2025, discussed opportunities and challenges in the food and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors, aiming to serve the interests of both peoples.
The statement further noted that the third workshop, to be held next month, will focus on banking sector cooperation between Egypt and Sudan. The outcomes of all three preparatory workshops will be presented at the second Egyptian–Sudanese Business Forum scheduled for early December 2025, under the patronage and presence of Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris, along with a large delegation of ministers and senior officials from both countries.
All recommendations from the preparatory workshops will be submitted to the respective ministries and government bodies in both countries to translate them into tangible opportunities, contributing to deeper economic cooperation between Egypt and Sudan.
