High-Level Sudanese Delegation Participates in IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings

The annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank for the year 2025 kicked off Monday in Washington, D.C., and will continue from October 13 to 18.

Sudan is participating with a high-level delegation headed by Mohamed Nour Abdel Daim, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, along with the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Planning, the Sudanese Ambassador to Washington, and officials from the Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Sudan, as well as representatives from relevant government sectors and the private sector.

The meetings will discuss global efforts to support economic growth, address debt challenges, finance the transition to clean energy, accelerate gender equality, and advance sustainable development, in addition to tackling issues affecting global financial markets.

The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and World Bank bring together central bank governors, finance and development ministers, parliamentarians, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and academics to discuss key global issues such as economic outlooks, poverty eradication, development effectiveness, and aid efficiency.

The event also features regional seminars, media sessions, press conferences, and a range of side activities focusing on the global economy, climate change, international development, and the global financial system.
